The time had finally come to present a cheque for £750 to Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance, representing the proceeds from the charity raffles held at the previous two Wiltshire Honda Owners Club Annual Rallies.

On a very wet and rainy day, five of us travelled to Trowbridge for the presentation. Pete and Mathew Rendle braved the weather and made the 204-mile round trip from Littlehampton by motorcycle — and, as you can imagine, they were a little damp! 😂

Grubs and Edna, on the other hand, sensibly opted for the warmth and comfort of the car, making the 156-mile round trip. 🤷‍♂️

We were given a very interesting and informative tour of the operations centre, including the helicopter and critical care cars. It was fascinating to see the facilities, equipment and dedicated team behind this vital service and to learn more about the incredible work they carry out every day.

The entire operation is funded by charitable donations, so it was a real privilege to meet some of the team and see first-hand how donations help support this lifesaving service.

As we were nearing the end of our tour, the team received a call-out. We were able to watch as they sprang into action, preparing and taking off in the helicopter in an incredibly short space of time. Seeing the professionalism, speed and dedication of the team was something we won’t forget.

It was a real privilege to visit Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance and see the valuable work they do. The Wiltshire Honda Owners Club is proud to support such a fantastic charity, and we will continue to support them and raise funds wherever we can.
