Wilts/Oxford/Reading HOC go karting, Sun 22 Mar 26

So, 10:45am found 2 Wilts riders (Andrew Young & Alan Weatherall) meeting (with Alan on his new Africa Twin) in Malborough.

Leaving there at 1100, they headed North then East and navigated the closed roads & congestion in Reading (due to a marathon being run).

Arriving at Teamsport Go Karting, 7 Cradock Road, Reading, RG2 0JT, and meeting up with the rest of Wilts, Reading and Oxford HOC members, Wilts were ready, the 3rd inter Branch Event was on, let racing begin!

Shortly after 1300 hrs, it was time to don the issued overalls, pin ears back for the mandatory safety brief and feign / promise compliance with the rules (Claire J, Honorary President)..!👺

1345-1400 was the initial session on track in the electric carts for a 15 min practice/qualifier.

1430-1445 found the 12 racers back on the track again for very hotly contested 15 min grid formatted race…!😆

However, as the unbiased author of this piece, I can honestly say that the end result was never in doubt..!😁

So, well done to Oxford and Reading; however an extra well done to Sean Emery, Andrew Young and Rob Grist on a 1,2 3 for Wilts! 👌

At the risk of appearing a little full of ourselves, Wilts now hold the ‘Grand Slam’ of being victorious in all 3 of the darts, skittles and karting inter branch, winter events!

The reigning champions wait to be knocked off their perch next year..!🥴

After posing for winners’ pics, it was time for a bit of food and to disperse for home.

Another enjoyable, competitive fun afternoon out was had🙂
