Wilts Go Window Shopping

A cool, overcast Sunday (05/10/25) morning found the HOC Chairman Marcus with 2 biker friends (Craig & Jason, potential new Wilts HOC members!) and 5 Wilts HOC members, breakfasting in Oscars Café, Tidworth SP9 7LG with a 9th rider (Dave J) joining the group prior to setting off.
After a short brief from ride leader Andrew Young, and with Dave J bringing up the rear of the column, the riders set off from The Ram Pub car park opposite Oscars.
Riding some scenic country roads which crossed Salisbury Plain, we picked up a 10th member (Stephen) on route & at around 1115, arrived at Fowler’s motorcycle dealers in Bristol, BS4 3DR.
After enjoying the refreshments available in the Café and eyeing up the array of shiny new bikes & assorted biker kit that we didn’t need, we set off again at about 1245.
More flowing roads saw the gang (less Vicky & Neil Studely who peeled off for home) arriving safely at The Rowdey Cow Café in Devizes, SN10 2LX.
With numbers boosted by Chris Burfoot meeting us there, we spent 45 mins or so catching up & consuming the coffee, ice cream & tasty cake to maintain core body temperatures! (Sort of)…
Mid afternoon, with the sun lowering over the horizon, Wilts riders departed direct for individual homes .
So, after 3 hrs 25 mins riding time and 112 safe but enjoyable miles covered; I think it fair to say a big ‘Thank You’ to Andrew Young for heading up & leading a very successful first ride.
Well done Andrew.
Until the next time…
