On Thursday 1st October, with summer still lingering, John Flynn and I set off on a ‘scenic route’ through the Surrey Hills. There was a loose plan to meet up with the Solent branch (Geoff, Dave, Chris and Bill) who were on their own run to ‘Billy’s on the Road’ – Billinghurst. Entirely unscheduled, but with military precision and from entirely different routes we entered the car park 10 seconds after them. So, we sat Covidly-spaced and had a good chat over club and life affairs over a bacon and egg butty. The conversation flowed as freely as the tea and we all vowed to repeat the performance another time.
