It was 17th November, on what could be the last reasonably pleasant day before winter sets in, that I put myself forward to lead a ride. Six of us met up and took a lovely indirect route to the Corner café at Sible Hedingham. We sort of went via Thaxted, Haverhill, Stradishall and Clare. The food is always good there and we refuelled ourselves and had a nice chat. It was a little cold and we decided we would be quite happy with a shortish day so then headed home via Finchingfield, Dunmow and Ongar before the remaining four of us had coffee and cake at Ashlyn’s Farm shop near North Weald. We had only done about 100 miles, fairly low mileage for us toughies, but enjoyable. Got home in time for a snooze in the chair before tea time.
Lovely.
