On 14th June, Steve, John, Grace, and I took a trip from Kent up to The Bike Shed in London. I set off from Dover and rode up to the Medway Services to meet Grace, then the two of us headed on to Gravesend to meet up with Steve and John. From there, Steve and John led us safely through the streets of central London, over Tower Bridge, and straight to The Bike Shed.
“That part was the easy bit! None of us realised it was Trooping the Colour that day, which meant getting out of London later was a whole different story – gridlocked traffic, road closures, and general chaos everywhere.
“For Grace and me, both having only been riding for about a year, it was a real baptism of fire. But thanks to Steve and John’s experience and support, we felt safe and looked after the whole way.
“It was one of those days that really sticks with you, not just for the destination, but for the adventure of getting there and back. A great ride, brilliant company, and a good reminder of how valuable it is to have more experienced riders around when you’re still building your confidence.
