Starting from Rising Bridge, Haslingdon at the earlier time of 10am. It was to be a very special day as the weather could not have been better for motorbiking – dry, sunny & clear with a cool light wind on some great clear roads in glorious, stunning countryside. There were 10 bike riders and one pillion as we headed north from Rising Bridge in the beautiful vistas of the Yorkshire Dales, with a coffee stop at busy Hawes. Then, on to the Pennines Parks, with new roads for some, to Middleton for a hearty lunch. Again, lots of bikes everywhere in this market town and civil parish on the banks of the river Tees. Return journey continued in the Pennine Parks with a stop on the tops of the Hartside Pass to admire the magnificent view, and onto a coffee stop at the Crown Inn, followed by a police van! A nice lady cop stepped forward from the van with her colleague, who then told us off for Graham’s previous corner stop off – (surprisingly they did not appreciate our Buddy System)! Then, it was off to the old famous and exciting A6 over shap to Kendal. Another new twisty route to Devils Bridge and more new back roads to the M6 for final coffees, cakes and hugs at the Lancaster M6 services. Gary was thanked by all for the great day’s route, which has to be repeated.
