Six bikes, and nine of us finally set off (I was late – as usual!) from the Jolly Boatman for a run out to parts of Oxfordshire/Gloucester on August Bank Holiday. The weather was on our side to start with, as we headed in a criss-cross fashion to the Long Itch Diner. After a brew and cake, plus getting a stamp for our “Bike & Brew passports, we were off again to meet up with Pete & Jen at the Cotswold Barn for lunch.

As we approached the lunch stop, just 2 miles or so away, the heavens opened with all it had – including hailstones! Anyway, we all had a nice lunch, although with soggy bottoms! An ice-cream stop was originally planned in Bourton-on-the-Water, but it was so busy, with no convenient place to park our bikes, Rob decided to move on. The day was drawing to a close by the time we got to the roundabout at the bottom of Burford, that we all went our separate ways home.

Thanks to Rob for leading us on a very interesting route, it was enjoyed by all. Looking forward to your next planned ride out!!
