Northern Ireland branch update

The NW200 rideout with the visiting Durham HOC Branch was a great success – very well attended and will definitely be repeated. Many thanks again to Greg O’Hagan for planning the route for the day. The Durham Branch expressed their enjoyment and thanks to the HOC NI members.

The Cookstown Show was disappointing – the location of the stand in a minor hall with reduced footfall was a major factor. Some consideration will be given to future attendance.

Monthly rideouts – Brian Ewart has agreed to continue with these and the next one is already in the planning – arrangements to follow.

Two charity rideouts for the weekend of 24th/25th May were suggested for any of those interested – Sperrin Bikers (Air Ambulance) and Big Breakfast & Rideout (Portadown Ex-Servicemen).

Joey Dunlop Memorial Day 24th May – any attendees who wanted to meet up. Antony and Hayley would be in attendance.

Classic Bike Festival Ireland at Bishopscourt weekend of 1st-3rd August – HOC NI Branch stand will be in same location as last year – appeal for bikes for display and any members available to help out on stand – this is a great weekend with racing and entertainment.

Teddy Bear Run in NI 28th June – riders have been contacted but support riders still needed – any ond available contact Mark Smallman. Gerry Gourley volunteered to do Ballynure leg.

HOC GB annual get-together in Ayr 19th-22nd Sept – decision taken not to attend – lack of interest from members. Brian Ewart suggested NI Branch rideout to include an overnight stay – possibly same weekend and probably Republic – Brian agreed to look into this for next meeting. Floor opened and no other business – meeting closed
