North London Six See Southwold

On 27th October I decided it was my turn at leading a Ride. Now that we do rides on Wednesdays also it is quite hard to work out a destination. Anyhow, I decided on Southwold for the sea and fish and chips. A lovely route took us through Thaxted, Havering, Bury St Edmunds and Laxfield. The road through Laxfield was a new one to me and is recommended. We parked near the pier where we had extremely good fish and chips, quite expensive but good portions. We sat in the sun and chatted and looked at the sea, very nice. Two chaps went directly home but the rest of us used the lovely A1120 through to Stowmarket with a final stop at Greggs in Sudbury. A classy place I think you will agree and the cake and beverages were very good and cheap. Home was through Finchingfield. A fine day with nice weather but got cold as the sun went down. We rode at a good pace but it was sad to pass the scene of a motorcycle accident near Finchy. Someone was quite badly injured it appeared. Plenty already on scene.
