North London Ride 17th December

Hello Everyone and Merry Christmas!

North London Swiftly visit Swaffham

17th December was forecast to be good weather and that is how it turned out, probably one of the nicest riding days one might hope for in December.

A jolly eight of us were waved off from Birchanger Services on the M11 by Graham and we hit the good roads straight away, going through Elsenham and on to Thaxted and Haverhill.

We carried on up to Bury St Edmunds, which we nicely skirted, then continued on to Thetford and Mundford before arriving in the main square at Swaffham.

It took us just over two hours. We had a nice late breakfast in the Nelson café (no half measures of course) and a chat before heading to Sudbury for afternoon tea.

Our route was Downham Market, Littleport, Mildenhall and BSE. We finished the ride in the dark, generally splitting up for our homes around Braintree.

A great day out and a fine pre Christmas treat.
