Hello Everyone,
North London enjoy the South Downs
On 21st July, despite the traffic, I thought we needed a change and decided on a run heading South.
A Baker’s Dozen of us met at Brentwood and crossed the Dartford Bridge to hit the A21 going south. With a fine detour via Hawkhurst and Northiam we all got to the very nice Custom cafe, just outside Bexhill, for lunch.
It was nice to see Andrew with us after a bit of a break, Alan on his new automatic NT1100 and Ben who joined us for the first time.
A few guys headed for home from here, missing the smog presumably, while the rest of us went to Beachy Head via a drive through Eastbourne sea front. Beachy Head was lovely with the sun shining and a gentle sea breeze and photos taken.
We then went to Seaford, Alfriston, the A22 west and then a lovely country road to Edenbridge for a last stop at a Pret A Manger we found.
From there it wasn’t far to the M25 and home, with a bit of filtering for the tunnel. A lovely day. I mustn’t mention that my bike toppled off its Stand at the start and broke the end of the clutch lever! Silly me…
Regards
Steve.
