ESSEX HONDA OWNERS CLUB

RIDE OUT TO SIBLE HEDINGHAM

Sunday 11th February 2024.

We met at the Rose Cafe at 8.30am for breakfast. Can’t beat a bit of brekky before a ride.

On the ride today were Bronwen, Bryan, Johnny, Marrissa, Ed and  myself.

Mike W had breakfast with us, but wouldn’t be riding with us as he is on call for work today.

The weatrher started off overcast this morning, but was getting brighter as the morning went on.

We set off at 9.30am for Finchingfield. We took a nice leisurely ride via Ongar, Leden Roding, Great Dunmow, Duck End, Great Bardfield and into Finchingfield.

The condition of the roads were a mixture of damp and dry roads. The road just short of Finchingfield was slightly flooded. We watch a few cars drive through the flood to gauge the depth of the water. Gauging it to be safe we slowly rode through it and into Finchingfield.

We had a pit stop here.

Drinking our coffee’s we noticed that the river was in flood and nearly bursting it’s banks.

It wasn’t too busy here today, normally there are loads of bikers here.

We then set off for the Corner Cafe at Sible Hedingham, our lunch stop.

We rode via Steeple Bumpstead, Haverhill, Stumer, Baythorne End, and Toppesfield into Sible Hedingham.

We had a nice lunch here.

The staff here are very friendly and the food  is great.

After our lunch we decided to ride for home, hoping to beat the forecasted rain that was due to arrive.

We headed off via Gosfield, Braintree, Witham and  then the A12.

People peeled off where necessary for home.

Another great day out in great company on good  roads.

I completed 127 miles door to door today.

Well done everyone.
