On Sunday 25th we met up at Thurrock Services for a 9.30am departure into Kent and then onto Ryka’s cafe. The day started of overcast, but by lunchtime the sun was out and the sky was clear.7 of us set off from Thurrock, Ashley, Mike W, Mick T, Mike B, Phil, New member Carole and myself. We rode over into Kent and made our way to McDonalds in Otford where we met up with 6 members of the Kent HOC. After a little chat I then lead the group via Edenbridge and then across country to Ryka’s Cafe. It was a little busy at Ryka’s as you can see. We ordered lunch here, which didn’t take too long to be prepared and served up. After Lunch Mike B had to set off for home as he has a lot further to get home then the rest of us. The rest of us then made our way to Newlands Corner with Mike G, Kent HOC, leading us. At Newlands it was ice cream time. As you can see Ashley was in her element. Ashley has sent me some pictures that she took on the day whilst on her bike.. See them below. Time came to head for home. Another great day out, in good company along good roads. I completed 148.9 miles door to door today. Until the next ride, be safe.
