Northern Ireland Branch 1st meeting of 2025

On Wednesday 15th January 25 we held our first meeting of the new year, present were the following people Hayley Gray, Aaron McDonald, Brian Ewart, Stephen Bryson, Harry Watters, John Mccready, Gerry Gourley, Greg O’Hagan, Bill McCord, Alan Brown and myself Antony Fleming.

We started the night by wishing everyone a happy new year and declaring that our 1st Christmas dinner/party was a success which we hope to repeat this year

Then it was on to discussing the next show which is at Comber declaring we would be in attendance on Friday 24th and Saturday 25th of January promoting the branch here in the province.

Gerry Gourley put forward a proposal of supporting a local charity this year, he was tasked with getting information on the charity he has in mind.

Vintage rallies were mentioned if any interest in doing some of them, putting the bikes on display, there seemed to be a reasonable interest in that. The NW200 was discussed regarding members from some of the English and Scottish branches coming over for the week or weekend. Deaks Deakin is our contact on this matter, to be followed up on.

The annual Honda Owners Club GB gathering in Ayr was mentioned for September and there seemed to be interest in attending.

A decision was taken to attend the Classic Bike Festival in Bishopscourt again this year which is a weekend event in August after the success of last year.

Rider Relay UK – teddy bear run is happening all over the UK and members present were very keen to support this. We would like the branch in general to support this so we need 100 riders for this relay to happen so please step up. It takes place from 28th June to 19th July.

Ballymoney Motorcycle Show was discussed and it was agreed to attend this event as it is quite a big show supporting Air Ambulance NI on 28th of February to 1st March. Ballymoney Classic Show was also suggested with a decision to be made on that at a later date. At this point the meeting brought to a close with the next meeting scheduled for Wednesday 19th February
