oday was the cancelled ride from last Sunday to the Monkey Park, which is now closed for winter. Last Sunday’s was postponed due to the horrific winds.  What a difference this Sunday was – with no wind, completely dry, and only a slight morning mist on the fields with the appearance later of a warm sun.  Leaving Poplar at 10.30am, it was down the A49 and across on the A51 to the biker’s cafe just west of Uttoxeter, formerly called Kates.  Following a hearty lunch, the return was across to the A53 to Market Drayton, Bronington, then north on A529 and homeward bound on the A49 for final coffees and hugs at Poplar.  All good, splendid, varying biking roads with many fast and tight sweepers, that the zealous gang forgot to stop for interim coffees, and cakes. It was straight there and back without a murmur. A warm welcome was given to our newbie Kevin.  Another great Manhoc route and day.
