Essex Take a Trip to Dunmow

We met up at the Rose Cafe for breakfast before the run started.

I arrived late at the cafe due to my St1300 refused to start due to what looked like a flat battery. I found this hard to accept as I had charged/topped up the battery only the day before.

Put the Pan away and bring the Goldwing out.

I got to the cafe in time to have a breakfast.

Whilst eating I took a call from Jim Clewley to say he could attend as he got his bike out only to find he had a puncture.

For the ride today we had Tim, Jon, John Tait, Jim G and myself.

We set off along the A414 to Ongar then the B184 to Leaden Roding.

Riding along the B184 we cam across a man who photos passing bikes and cars. You can buy the pictures from his website. I have added two pictures bought from the website, Jon on his KTM and Me on my Goldwing.

Then via Hatfield Heath, Sawbridgeworth then up the  A10 to the Silver Ball Cafe.

Here we stopped for a morning cuppa.

As you can see it was quite busy at the Silver Ball.

Following our natter and a cupper we headed across country to Thaxted where we were going to stop at Parrishes for lunch.

Upon entering Thaxted we found Parrishes was closed.

This is the second time I have come across Parrishes closed. I will have to find out if they have gone under.

We then headed to Dunmow and had lunch in a nice cafe called Paradise Cafe.

The staff are very welcoming here and the food is very good. Well worth stopping here again.

After our lunch we headed out different ways and headed for home.

It was a great ride today with good company.

The weather was excellent for riding in.

Well done everyone.
