West London have an Eggscellent day out

On Good Friday April 15th seven of us set off in glorious weather for the Berkshire Easter Egg Run, brilliantly organised by the Thames Vale Vultures.

Over 340 bikes set off from Reading and took a scenic route through Pangbourne and Whitchurch to Abbey Rugby club.

It took 15 minutes for the train of bikes to pass by the well-wishers.. Locals of all age ranges cheered and waved us on our way – car drivers waited patiently – although one grumpy old dear did give us a two fingered salute!

Over 1250 eggs were collected for the Charity event in aid of local disadvantaged children.

Tony, Steve Cribbin, Charles, Jude and I were able to welcome Chris Ward on his first run of the year with us. And Jules was able to show off his new Niken 900 3-wheeler which filtered through the traffic effortlessly.

At the end of the run, we were able to sustain ourselves on a mix of bacon rolls and tea.

All in all, it was – fun in the sun, with a hot cross bun.
