West London Drop into the MCN Festival of Motorcycling

On the weekend of May 14/15 four members from West London stopped off on their way home from the branch holiday in Yorkshire to stop off at the MCN Festival of Motorcycling (previously run as the BMF rally).

When we arrived Tony Surridge was already supporting the Oxford branch who together with some from Northants and of course Graham Gull were busy enticing interested bikers to take a step further and sign up with the HOC.

The bikes which Leanne and Erica from Oxford had on display were attracting constant attention and discussion – it would certainly be great to have interesting bikes like those on the HOC stand at the NEC bike show later in the year.

With the good weather especially on the Saturday, and a very positive spirit from all who were present, it did seem possible that the halcyon days of the old BMF Rally might be recreated in the future.

Branch secretary Dan Walton had not been to the show before so found the Wall of Death, Stunt riders and Moped Mayhem in the Arena enthralling.

Tony and Dan had a very constructive chat with Guy Willison who is very enthusiastic and full of ideas about promoting the club at our Classic Show at Sammy Miller’s in August.

Well done to all for setting up and manning the stand – especially Marcus Moulson for transporting the marquee and providing a bike to display.
