Fri 21st-Mon 24th April – In Flanders Fields.
Charles organised a long weekend trip for seven from West London, booking some superb accommodation near the centre of Ypres.
From our base with its secure parking, we were able to attend The Last Post Ceremony performed every day at 8.00pm at The Menin Gate.
We visited the impeccably maintained Tyne Cot Cemetery and later walked around and through The Trench of Death.
The exceptional In Flanders Fields Museum retold the sacrifices and sufferings of the conflicts which are inextricably linked with this area.
We still had time to enjoy plenty of Belgian hospitality – great food and drink… You should go there!
