The Clappers rally misses the worst of the weather

The Beds branch rally escaped the worst of the weather 23-26th May with some overnight rain but dry (ish) runs and packing away dry tents on Monday morning. The usual rally crowd rocked up on Friday with most having dinner at the pub during the evening. The Saturday run to Suffolk along winding country roads across 5 counties was followed by our Saturday evening BBQ and much chat in the marquee. Sunday’s run was a local tour around Beds, Herts and Northants, meeting for coffee and cake at the Shuttleworth collection at Old Warden and calling in at the American 355th fighter group memorial at Steeple Morden for a photo opportunity on the way back. 5 large pizza’s kept everybody fed in the evening! After bacon rolls (cooked by Jennie) on Monday morning, we broke camp and set off for home. Thank you to everyone who attended, all those that contributed over the weekend and of course Roger for sorting out the runs. The site is booked for next year!
