On the 12th May we had a great ride. 6 of us and my XL was the biggest bike at 250cc. I did 101 miles door to door, John did 152 miles.
Stephen Llewellyn, his son, his mate, John Hawkins, Murray Wiltshire and myself met at McDonald’s and then headed to the Steel Horse for a cuppa. While there we heard that a light plane had crashed just up the road and the road was blocked so we turned right instead of left. Found some interesting lanes on our way to Monmouth. Just suited the C50, C90, the 3 125s (one Honda and 2 Suzukis) and my 250. Stopped for lunch at Jo’s Cafe on the A449 at Symonds Yat.
After lunch we made our way back to the bus station at Abergavenny via Skenfrith. Didn’t stop at Skenfrith Castle as the car park looked full. From there we came over the Blorange to Blaenavon and then on to Pontypool. We dispersed from there.
A great ride made better for having great company. Thanks guys. Who said little bikes can’t be used for club rideouts? We had great fun at not much more than 40mph (mostly).
