A good ride today. Joined by Tony, Murray, John and Michael.Left ASDA a little later than planned as we were all catching up. Headed to Hirwaun along the HOV. Up to Penderyn and then hit the lanes. Loads of cars heading to the falls. I have never seen that many cars on that road. They soon turned off and we had a traffic free road. Stopped for some photos at the top of the zig zag and then on to Heol Senni. Kept on the road until we joined the Ystradgynlais road. Just before the Gwyn Arms we turned into the lanes again. This one headed to Trecastle but we turned west before getting there. A slight detour before we eventually got to Langadog and onto the Owl’s Nest. It was a bit busy there and the queue was quite small when Murray joined to get his bacon bap. That took ages. The rest of us just stood around looking at the bikes.Eventually with Murray fed and watered we headed north to Lynne Brianne where we found an ice cream van. Yes we partook. The road then lead us around the reservoir. We didn’t stop again until we got to the foot of the Devil’s Staircase. A brief chat and some photos and on to Abergwesyn and then Beulah. It’s a fast ride into Builth Wells where we forsook the A470 for a much better ride down the B road on the opposite side of the river. Another stop to admire the small suspension bridge and more photos. Whilst there a motorcycle cop pulled up and had a chat with us. All friendly. From there it was joining the A470 to get to Talgarth and down the lanes to pass Llangorse Lake. At Bwlch Tony headed home while the rest of up hit the lanes again and went along Talybont reservoir and over the hill to Merthyr Tydfil.Another good day out with good company. The only spoiler was the amount of cars in places clogging the lanes. A bit of a scorcher of a day when it was good to be riding.
