R.I.P to Long Time Member of the Norfolk Branch, Julian Richards

It is with deep regret that I have to inform you that our founding branch secretary, Julian Richards has passed away following a short fight with cancer. I remember sitting as part of a group in The Apollo Club, Harleston on Thursday 8th November 2007 discussing the formation of the Norfolk Branch of the Honda Owners Club. It was Julian's drive and enthusiasm with support from Lings in Harleston that got the branch started and thanks to him continues to today in the same way he initiated. He was a big man with a booming laugh, always had a good story to tell from his motorcycling career, I enjoyed his company and was pleased to call him a friend.
He sorted out the Lings Demo Days for us in the early days when we used to go to Lowestoft for our test rides, he loved motorcycles and the TT, he had a good tale or two from "the island". One particular memory for me was when the Club National Rally was held just south of GT. Yarmouth, I was asked to lead a rideout of seventy-six motorcycles, Julian rode up and down the column, keeping everyone together and giving assistance when and if it was needed, I was very grateful to him for helping me out but that was typical of the man.
Although I did not see too much of him in the last few years, I was able to contact him on the branch's tenth anniversary with an invitation to come along and say "Hello" unfortunately he was busy on that night so couldn't attend.

R.I.P. Julian, a good man who will be sorely missed.
