Oxford Run to Turweston Aerodrome 10th May 2026

Terry led 9 bikes out of The Jolly Boatman on Sunday 10th May, and wound our way around the Oxfordshire countryside. We didn’t get far before our first problem, Chris T was marking the Blaydon/Woodstock roundabout and discovered he had a puncture in the rear tyre of his VFR.
Chris arranged a lift home, while we carried on. As we were riding along, we had an impromptu display of classic cars coming in the opposite direction, MGAs, Alpine Rapiers, Triumph Spitfires et al. It was nice for Terry to arrange that for us!!! Unfortunately for Terry, his immaculate route was scuppered a couple of times due to road closures, but we eventually made it to the Aerodrom Café (albeit via a tricky right hand turn on the A45!) to find it very busy. We were asked to use the tables out on the balcony, but that was rather chilly and windy (see photo!), so we managed to squeeze onto a couple of tables inside. Suitably refreshed we carried on towards the final stop back at the Jolly Boatman. Again, Terry was scuppered by more road closures. After a warming drink and a chatter, we all made our way home. Many thanks Terry, very enjoyable day out.–
