North London meet other Wildfowl

Wednesday 28th May At rather short notice I organised a short run for a light lunch at the very nice cafe at Hanningfield Reservoir. I thought it might be just me but three other stars of the Branch turned up just in time and off we went. I took a nice country route roughly parallel to and south of the A414 in the Chelmsford direction and we then sat at an outside table enjoying good food and chat and lapping up the calm ambience of the location. Apart from us there was a lot of other Wildfowl about. Water birds in the main, ducks and geese predominantly. It was so pleasant sitting in the sun there that we stayed on for tea and cakes, kindly provided by Chris P. A direct route home was taken making it a short but very pleasant day out. Group picture taken by John.
