Sunday 28th September
Yes, it was the veritable Dave Plumb, who yet again kindly led a Ride! Four of us turned up at McDonalds and he led us on some very good roads to a fine lunch at the Hungry Stag cafe near Bury St Eddy. Our route took in Ongar, Leaden Roding, Barnston, Felsted, Shalford, Wethersfield, Sible Hedingham, Sudbury, Lavenham and across to Woolpit by the A14. A great and dry couple of hours riding. Afterwards we hit the A14 to Bury then down the nice A143 to Haverhill. At Linton we cut down to Saffron Walden and around about here the weather had changed and John and Chris decided to head home on what they thought was the best way. It rained fairly heavily for a while and Dave and I went through Thaxted to Dunmow where, the rain having temporarily stopped we also stopped for tea and cakes at the Paradise cafe. Lovely it was. Home from there and a bit more rain, but a great day.
Regards
Steve
