Hello Everybody…
North London Bungle in the Jungle
On 1st October I decided to try a new destination for lunch and a decent length ride to take advantage of our Indian Summer.
It was nice to have a dozen bikes gathered together and we set off using our favourite route up towards Suffolk.
That is Ongar and Dunmow and then we went Sudbury, Stowmarket and across country to lunch.
I had only made one mistake on the route, good for me, no one noticed I think so we’ll keep it quiet, though the mistake did give us a nice road going through Earls Colne.
Lunch was at the Suffolk Jungle room café in Metfield which had been mentioned in a Bike mag.
It was perhaps a bit too posh for us and the service was slow, but some of us liked it.
We next headed directly to Bury St Eddy but we dealt poorly with a road closure and ended up in Thetford. However lovely roads through Clare and Finchingfield, after Eddy, took us to a final stop at Dave’s where Maria treated us to tea and cake.
A long but good day of over 200 miles and nice to see Iannis and Nikki and also another Mike for the first time on a ride. Also we met Mick O’ at lunch!
