Manchester Branch Ride to The Old Stores Bikers, Cafe

T ‘was a frosty January morning. I tiptoed my Africa Twin down the street onto the main road, and off to the meeting point. Paul joined me en route and then Richard arrived just after us. When we were ready to start, we had twelve bikes. Not bad for our first official ride.

Welcome to the new members: Sue ( who joined us on our adhoc ride on 5th January), John and Mark. Hope you all enjoyed the ride and will come out with us again.

We couldn’t make much progress because of a lot of fog but, once we got into Wales, the sun appeared and we had a nice ride to The Old Stores Cafe. After lunch, the plan was to go to Betws-y-coed via Cerrigydrudion. However, the road was closed and we were diverted on to some narrow twisty country lanes that slowed us down and I turned left onto the A5 instead of right. So I took us to Bala for a brief stop and then we headed home via Ruthin, Mold and then the M56.

I hope everyone enjoyed the day – I certainly did and look forward to more of the same …… but on drier roads and warmer days!
