Lakes and Coast Ride Out with the Howlers on their Visit Ooop North

Nice ride around the Lakes with HOC.

(Lakes and Coast with the West London Branch)

The start was at the iconic meeting place which is Devil’s Bridge at Kirkby Lonsdale at 10.30am, I arrived at 10.15am, went and bought a coffee and waited for West London branch to arrive, also my partner in crime Stephen Robinson. After meeting Jon and his gang, we decided to go where Jon had set his sat nav for a route to Silverdale via “A farm yard” then on to Arnside and travelled to Milnthorpe where a mass ride out for a  NHS Charity was leaving as we pulled up by the lights.

After getting through the Scooters who were being shot gun, we got onto the A590 dual carriageway then onto in the direction of Lindale. We travelled through Grange over Sands through Allithwaite and then to Flookburgh and then on to Cark in Cartmel for a toilet stop. Unfortunately I took a short cut to get in front of the group, but they went passed me, only two and Steve pulled over. I found that (I am sorry guys but I forgot your names) that they needed to a fuel stop, so onto Coniston which we caught up with the rest of Club. Jon and Jude wanted to go to a Café, so I took ‘em down to the Bluebird on the shores of Coniston Water where we had refreshments.

Then we decided to miss out the Ferry crossing from Hawkshead to Windermere and decided to go by road through Ambleside thru Troutbeck and onto Bowness where a Steen’s BBQ was to be cooked and eaten and enjoyed. Steve, Peter, and I were pleased that The West London branch (HOWL’s) enjoyed the experience, our roads and the exceptional scenery that our great Lake District offers.
