Lakes and Coast recently enjoyed a HOWLing Day out with the West London Branch of the HOC
The group were staying in the centre of the Yorkshire Dales and came to explore the English Lake District visiting Devils’ Bridge at Kirkby Lonsdale, Silverdale on the Coast, and Coniston for coffee and cake, before visiting Windermere for an afternoon BBQ at Peter Steen’s to complete their day in the Lakes.
Led by Mike and Steve from the Lakes and Coast branch, some of the lesser-known routes were discovered as a major cycling event was happening in the central Lakes causing traffic chaos, with some members providing Marshall support. There was also the Keswick to Barrow walk taking place too, with even more bikes providing marshalling support.
National President Jude and the other members hadn’t realised that the NW corner of England has so much offer and spent the rest of week getting “lost” amongst sheep, amazing views, great food stops, and trying to find traffic lights roundabouts, traffic jams etc which is their normal riding style.
