We departed the Rose Cafe this morning at 10am. The weather was warm and dry, but there was a threat of storms for later in the day.
We were going to the Motorcycle Festival in St Ives today, going via the Silver Ball Cafe on the A10.
We took the lovely country roads over to the Silver Ball Cafe. It’s always lively here, used by other MC’s, cyclists and other car users.
The service is quick and the staff are friendly.
After a quick drink we set off again along the A10 towards Huntingdon where we picked up the A141 to St Ives and the festival.
This is the 6th year this show has being running. It’s not a big show, but is run to support the local Air Ambulance and the British Legion Poppy Appeal. In fact there are far more bikes in the car park than in the show.
You get a great burger and a good beer at the show, there’s also a steak house.
The return journey home took us via Bury St Edmunds where we stopped for a drink.
Jim mentioned of a bike shop he had heard about in Sudbury, TTT Motorcycle Village. We decided to swing by it on the way home. When we got there we found it closed. Well worth a visit another time when it’s open.
We continued homewards peeling off where necessary.
The weather stayed dry for us which was a bonus.
By the time I got home I had covered 219 miles today on great roads and in good company.
Until the next time, ride safe.
Roland.
