Hi everyone. On Sunday 18th July 2021 we held a Bike Show at The Ship pub. This is where we hold our weekly Thursday evening meetings. There were 3 reasons for holding this bike show;1. It is the 60th Anniversary of the HOC this year.2. To support the Essex/Herts Air Ambulance (EHAA).3. To promote safer bike riding. As you may know the Air Ambulances up and down the country have had a bad time this last year trying to raise funds. All their outside events/rides have been cancelled due to Covid. All money raised at this show will be going to EHAA.Can I firstly thank you all for your hard work and teamwork at the show.I would also like to thank The Ship pub for allowing us to use their beer garden for this event.I would also like to thank Rob for letting us use their car park just along from the pub.Thank you to the following for coming along to make the day special;Essex/Herts Air Ambulance. (EHAA).Essex Blood Runners.CADAM.Essex Goldwing Club.VJMC.Gabe with his printing service.HOC members. We had the following HOC Branches come to the show, Kent, North London, West London and of course us Essex.Thank you everyone that came along to help set up and take down the various Gazebo’s. Top job everyoneThe question I hear you asking is “How much did we make for the EHAA”?The Essex/Herts Air Ambulance gazebo made £58, which they gave to me to put in with the money we raised. The EHOC made through the £2 entry fee and the raffle £532. This gave a combined total of £590.To add to the £590 we can add the following money the EHOC collected over the last year by selling the EHAA helicopter badges and money we donated within the Branch. This total is £420.This gives us a new combined total of £1010.00p. Thank you to everyone who contributed a prize to the raffle. There were 50 prizes to be won. These came from HOC members, with The Ship pub donating £50 cash to the EHAA and giving a £45 meal voucher as a raffle prize. Well done if you won one of them.Thank you all for supporting this good cause.I will be talking to Angela at EHAA over the next few days to arrange a Sunday, very soon, to present a cheque to them at North Weald Airfield. Please try and be there on the date arranged. I would like to get as many people in the photo as possible. I will advise you of the date when I have it.We also had a few people join the EHOC at the show. Welcome to Andy, Peter, Stefano, also his son, Sandra, Nital and Mark.Again well done everyone and thank you for your hard work at the show.Roland.
