We departed McDonalds at Chelmsford at 9.30am.
The weather was dry with broken cloud. The first stage of our run was to Cafe 33 near Highview Prison between Haverhill and Bury St Edmunds.
The route took us via Boreham, Great Notley, Rayne, Blake End, Great Bardfield, Finchingfield and Haverhill to Cafe 33.
Here we had a pit stop, just a drink stop.
Our next stage to Browns Cafe at Mundford took us via Cock and End, (Yes you read that right), Little Ditton, Newmarket, Mildenhall, Lakenheath, Brandon to Browns cafe at Mundford.
The staff and food here are great.
After a good old natter time came to set off again.
Our afternoon coffee stop was supposed to be at the Corner cafe at Sible Hedingham.
But our route there went via Thetford, Bury St Edmunds, Sudbury and that’s where we found the road out of Sunbury was closed. A quick thinking in the saddle and I took us via Bures to Colchester. Here we had a coffee stop at McDonalds.
The detour had cost us time and so we took the quick way home down the A12.
Everyone peeled off where necessary for how.
We were lucky with the weather today. When the sun came out it was very bright. We had two short very light showers during the day, thank god as I had left my wet suit at home.
Everyone enjoyed the ride out today.
Until the next ride, stay safe.
