RIDE OUT TO WALLY’S SHED
Sunday 9th August 2020.
We met up at the Rose Cafe for a 9.30am departure. The cafe had just reopened which allowed us to grab a drink and use the toilets before we departed.
On the run today were 8 of us. We split into two groups of 4, to meet Covid19 guidelines.
In group A were Ashley, Liam, John and new member Emma.
In group B was Mike W, Jeff, Mike B and myself.
We set off going via Writtle, Leaden Roding, Greta Dunmow, and Thaxted to Finchingfield.
As we arrived at Finchingfield Jeff had to leave us, but Mick P was waiting there to meet us. So our numbers remained at 8.
Here bought drinks and cake from the tearoom and then found a space on the green.
It wasn’t too busy at Finchingfield with everyone being social distance aware.
We then set off via Great Sampford, Haverhill, and Bury St Edmunds to Acton and Wally’s Shed for lunch.
We had lovely steak pie and veggies for lunch.
It’s a really lovely lunch stop here.
We then set off again via Sudbury, Bulmer Tye, and Castle Hedingham to the Corner cafe in Sible Hedingham.
Our last drink of the day before we start our final leg for home
People peeled off on the final leg for home.
Another great day of riding in good company and on great roads. Well done everyone
I completed 156 miles door to door today.
Until the next ride, ride safe.
