Today Essex had a ride out to Brown’s Cafe at Mundford.
We met up at Rose’s Cafe in Chelmsford at 10am and after a coffee we set off at 10:30am.
We headed off along some nice country roads to Finchingfield for a coffee stop.
Shortly before we got to Finchingfield the drizzle started.
We parked up and went in quickly to get a coffee. We sat outside, under an awning, and drank our coffee. During our chat the rain started to come down harder. It was a no brainer, we would take our time drinking our coffee and wait for the rain to stop.
We chatted to other bikers there and after about 30 mins the rain stopped.
We set off again riding via Haverhill, Bury St Edmunds, Mildenhall and Lakenheath to Mundford. No rain on route.
Once inside Brown’s Cafe the staff were quick to show us to our table and take our orders.
I had my taste buds going for soup and ordered the Potato/Leek/Carrot soup. It looked so good I took a picture of it.
Jeff had the Sirloin Burger and chips. That looked good as well.
In fact all the food that was ordered in the cafe looked great and the staff here are really helpful.
We set off on a longer route to the Krazy Horse in Bury St Edmunds going via Thetford and Diss.
Time was now ticking by and so we set off for Braintree. Our last cup of coffee would be at McDonalds.
We said our goodbyes here and started out last journey of the day, for home.
I think we were lucky with the weather today. We had that drizzle and rain at Finchingfield and then the rest of the day remained dry. We rode 261 miles today.
Another good day riding. Good roads with great company.
Until the next ride, Ride safe.
Roland.
