Peter and Martyn left Donnington services at 9am, trotted over to Melton Mowbray and then picked one of favourite roads to Colsterworth – love this road, think Peter enjoyed it as well. Quick pit stop at the services and then on to Corby Glen for a stop at Lily lavendar hut. Very friendly people, good coffee and lots of cakes. From there over to Spalding and Ollie’s, super bike friendly, apart from the gravel car park. Really nice place to visit and the owners were very friendly. Another coffee then on to the furthest point, Riderzs at Long Sutton. Quaint little place, but had the biggest and best Sausage & Bacon sandwich. Met some other really friendly bikers and had a bit of a chat. Time to start heading home, last stop of the day Max & Cheles in Sleaford. After I missed the turn (sat nav issues – that’s my excuse) and a couple of mile detour, last coffee of the day in a proper builders mug. Thought we were pushing our luck, been dry and reasonably warm all day. Just as we started to head home it started raining and the heavens opened in Nottingham. Apart from the rain had a great day with good company.
