2 couples (Ian & Emma, Steve & Rita) set out on Friday afternoon and headed through the Peak District National Park to the Quality Hotel Sheffield North where we met up with the other 2 travelling companions (Karen & Andy). The hotel was brilliant, mega large rooms with plenty of space for the bike gear.
After breakfast at Morrisons we headed north towards Huddersfield (start of the deteriorating weather) and Bradford then on towards Harrogate, unfortunately the road to Harrogate was closed forcing us to head towards Skipton. Stopping along the way to drip all over the floor in the Next (Costa) Café, we made it to Ripon, 6 very soggy bodies.
We stayed at the Unicorn Hotel (Whetherspoons) and managed to dry off over night. We headed off to Grassington and then a nice winding route onto Hebden Bridge before the rain started again. When I say rain I mean it was just like having buckets of water thrown at you and peering through a thick mist.
We all arrived home safe and sound and despite the weather had a good time, mostly down to the good company.
