Durham Branch Ride 10th May

Five HOC members met at Bardon Mill.

Brian, our “carer” for the day led Ian, Paul, Ian and myself on a ride to Wanlockhead Inn for lunch, via Gretna, Dumfries, Thornhill A76 and Mennock Pass.

Wanlockhead is a disused lead mining village.

Then on to Dumfries House near Cumnock (Ayrshire) for another coffee/tea stop. Brian took us to Glenbuck a village that has disappeared.

Then we headed for the M74 South and stopping for our last coffee stop at one of the motorway services.

We said our good byes and departed for home. It was a long day in the saddle but an excellent day.
