So, Wilts hosted the first of three mid-winter social events this afternoon.
12:30-5PM at The Ram Pub, in Tidworth found an eclectic mix of 25+ Wilts, Oxford & Reading HOC members hotly contesting an inter-branch darts match.
One (Colin from Oxford) even arrived on a bike!
After a number of preliminary rounds using all four of the available boards & darts scrounged / borrowed from the pub, Wilts had three members in the semi-finals (Sean Emery, playing Alan Weatherell, & Andrew Young against Oxford’s Mark Clargo).
The final found Alan versus Andrew with fair play & accurate scoring being ensured by the indomitable Erica.
Alan & Andrew approached the oche, steadied their nerves & took aim.
After a third, closely contested game, counting down from 501 & finishing on a double, Alan eventually emerged as the worthy match victor.
Immediately following the darts the pre-ordered fish & chips had been collected from the chippy across the road (thank you Sean E & ‘Jimmy’ Young) been distributed & was then tucked into in the pub.
Thank you too to Andrew Young for organising a successful social event where HOC friendships could be maintained during the traditionally quieter winter months.

Wilts breakfast meet up Sunday 16th Nov 2025

A chilly but dry Sunday morning saw 16 Wilts’ HOC members (4 on bikes & the 5th, [the HOC President, no less]  riding pillion) meet up at The Castle and Ball Pub in Marlborough for a WHOC brunch.
The pre-booked food was really enjoyed by all amongst a lot of nattering & catching up in general.
Claire J gave a quick update on new, proposed Branch regalia. She now eagerly awaits an influx of orders…
Andrew Y briefed all that he hoped the next club social event would be an afternoon of pool on the 14th of Dec 25 in Swindon. Details to follow. To round off the morning, the club gave a booming rendition of ‘Happy Birthday’ to Alan Weatherell & presented him with a lemon slice bearing 1 of the 59 candles that he was due ! Hope you had a great day Alan. Roll on more social WHOC gatherings as winter starts to bite.  Well done & thank you to Andrew for organising today’s event. Kind regards, Andrew Young, Assistant Secretary, Wiltshire Honda owners Club.
