Reading HOC first Thursday Trundles evening ride-out
9 May 2010
New Thursday Trundles Evening a great night out.
A new event in the Reading Branch calendar - Thursday Trundles - saw 8 bikes turn up at the usual starting point opposite The Swan, not knowing where they were going! All set off at 7pm to Avebury village going M4 then along the old A4 from Newbury, with the roads being fairly clear, , but was the glow from the low setting sun, or Worzel's Gold pan leading the ride??? And amazingly not one wrong turn or a trip all the way round a roundabout....
A good supper was had at The Red Lion in Avebury village centre, with Bob surprisingly not going for an upgrade, then setting of back home at 9pm for a chilly ride back - and guess what? Yes they didn't make it back without a wrong turn, well it wouldn't be Reading if that didn't happen! Bob followed Worzel, with the rest starting to Geoff who was taking his own route from Newbury to his home!

The Thursday Trundles will certainly now become a firm favourite of the ride-outs diary - keep looking on the Branch website for the details.

They meet at The Swan, Basingstoke Road, Three Mile Cross, Reading RG7 1AT on the 2nd and 4th Wednesday of each month from 7.30pm. Everyone is welcome to come along and join in the activities, please e-mail Bryan Moody or telephone 07813 849782 for more details.
